Why use a livery designer in 2026?

With the 2025 motorsport season wrapping up, many drivers and teams are already looking ahead to next year. In the grand scheme of pre-season preparation, a car livery can feel like it sits low on the priority list, behind testing, budgeting, tyres, transport, and everything else that drains your time and money. But that doesn’t mean it should be overlooked.

As a specialist livery designer, my job is to create a design that stands out from the field and forms a unique visual identity for you on track. Too often, teams leave the design process entirely to their wrappers, who are brilliant at wrapping cars, but rarely have the time to sit down and fully develop a concept. On the flip side, lots of concept artists on social media create some impressive concepts, but their designs often ignore the real-world complications of wrapping, repairing and maintaining a race car.

I work closely with wrappers and sign-writers to fully understand how each panel is wrapped, stretched, trimmed and repaired. That means fewer surprises when the car goes into the workshop, and no unnecessary costs from ideas that just don’t work in reality. Everyone wants chrome until they see the price of the vinyl!

At the end of the day, I get that most teams would rather spend their budget on a fresh set of slicks than a full custom wrap. That’s why every design is tailored around your budget — whether that means a minimal, clean look or a highly impressive, printed wrap.

Sponsor Proposal Season

This is also the time of year when drivers are pitching hard for sponsorship. It’s a competitive market, and standing out is half the battle. A sponsor proposal without visuals is just another PDF with figures, but a proposal with a high-quality 3D render instantly feels more polished, more valuable and more convincing.

Many of my clients are already deep into their 2026 sponsor hunts, and our 3D renders have become a vital part of their pitch. Clear, realistic visuals help potential partners see exactly how their branding will appear on the car, and that can often be the difference between a polite “maybe next year” and a genuine conversation.

Because motorsport sponsorship is never easy, every design can be adapted quickly for different partners – different colours, different logos, different layouts — meaning you can approach multiple sponsors without needing a brand-new design every time.

If you’re planning your 2026 season, working on a sponsor proposal, or simply want a livery that gets you noticed, now is the perfect time to get in touch.
